On June 16 at approximately 5:10 pm the Hanson Police received a report of a B&E to a motor vehicle at Shaws Supermarket (Liberty Street Route 58). A window to a motor vehicle was smashed and the perpetrators stole a purse. Witnesses reported seeing a green Mitsubishi Galant occupied by a male and female party in the area. A broadcast was sent out to area Departments and the vehicle was located in Whitman at the CVS on Bedford Street. Sgt. Bombardier and Officer Young of the Whitman Police Department held the vehicle and the occupants until Hanson Officers could identify the parties.
Found in the stopped vehicle was the pocketbook stolen from the vehicle in Hanson. Taken into custody and charged with B&E to a motor vehicle, larceny over $250, and destruction of property over $250 was Nicolas Flores, age 24, of Brockton and a 17 year old female from Ohio. The female was being held in DYS custody until her arraignment in Plymouth Juvenile Court on Monday. Flores was being held on $2500 cash bail at the Plymouth House of Correction until his arraignment on Monday in Plymouth District Court.
A search warrant for the vehicle was obtained by Sgt. Peter Calogero of the Hanson Police Department. Located in the vehicle were stolen cell phones and pocketbooks. On June 14, 2017 at approximately 9:20 pm the Dunkin Donuts located at 487 Liberty Street was robbed by a white male wearing a mask and brandishing a knife. The employees of the establishment fled to safety. The suspect fled without getting any cash. As a result of this incident the Hanson Police were able to secure and execute two arrest warrants overnight. Taken into custody in Quincy were Nicole Gallagher, age 38 of Quincy and Kenneth Gosselin III, age 33, of Quincy. Both parties were charged with armed robbery while masked and assault with a dangerous weapon. They were interviewed at the Quincy Police Station and later transported back to the Hanson Police Department for booking.
Mrs. Gallagher is being held on $100,000 bail for arraignment in Plymouth District Court on Monday. Mr. Gosselin is also being held on $100,000 cash bail for arraignment Monday in Plymouth. Both parties are being held in the custody of the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department.
Police were led to the suspects after interviewing the witnesses who observed a vehicle that matched the description of Mrs. Gallaghers vehicle. Officer Meegan of the Hanson Police had observed that vehicle early in the evening at Shaws Supermarket and had obtained a plate. The vehicle was a brown 2002 Ford Taurus that was seen leaving CVS at the time of the robbery. Subsequent interviews and video led Hanson Police to contact Quincy PD. Quincy Police provided additional information that led to Mr. Gosselin being the boyfriend of Ms. Gallagher. Gosselin matched the description of the robbery suspect.
The investigation was led by Sgt. Andrews and Officer Meegan of the Hanson Police Department. Detective O’Brien, Officer Hughes, Officer Vigneau, Officer Peterson, and Officer Godwin were also instrumental in solving this case. The Hanson Police Department would like to thank the Quincy Police for their assistance as well as the area businesses and witnesses who provided valuable information.
