Hanson Police Respond After Vehicle Crashes into House

HANSON — Deputy Police Chief Michael Casey reports that the Hanson Police Department responded after a vehicle crashed into a house early this morning.

At 6:52 a.m. Tuesday, Hanson Police and Fire responded after receiving reports that a vehicle had crashed into the house at 1283 Whitman St. (Route 58).

The driver, a 49-year-old Hanson woman, was the only occupant. She was extricated from the car by Hanson firefighters and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.

One person was in the house at the time, but did not report any injuries.

The house sustained extensive damage. The town building inspector responded to the scene to evaluate the structural integrity of the home. Eversource also responded to the scene because the home’s water and gas lines were severed. The resident will be able to return home once water and gas service is restored.

The crash remains under investigation by the Hanson Police Department. The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) also responded to the scene to assist.
