Commuter Rail Engine Fire Causing Delays in Hanson

HANSON — Chief Michael Miksch reports that a fire in an engine of a MBTA Commuter Rail train at the Hanson T Station is causing delays Thursday morning.

At approximately 6:55 a.m., the Hanson Police and Fire Departments responded to the Hanson Commuter Rail station, 1070 Main St. for a report of a fire on an inbound train.

The fire has been put out by the Hanson Fire Department. No injuries were reported.

All passengers are being transferred to another train. Further information will be made available by the MBTA.
