Event to Take Place Sunday, Dec. 6 at HPD Headquarters
HANSON — Chief Michael Miksch is pleased to report that the Hanson Police Department and the Hanson Police Relief Association will be hosting its first ever ‘Stuff-A-Cruiser’ toy drive to benefit Toys for Tots next month.
The drive, which was organized by Officer Derek Harrington, will take place Sunday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Hanson Police officers will be conducting a drive-thru toy drive to benefit the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. The department will be accepting new, unwrapped toys in the parking lot of the Hanson Police Headquarters, 775 Main St.
Officers will direct donors through the parking lot to donate. Donors will be asked to remain in their vehicles and an officer will approach to collect the donation. All officers will be wearing masks and gloves during the collection. Hanson Police request that all vehicle occupants wear a mask as well while attending the event.
Officers will be stuffing their cruisers with the donated toys.
In addition to the drive, the Hanson Police Headquarters is also housing a Toys for Tots donation bin until Dec. 13 for those who cannot make the stuff-a-cruiser event.
“We are excited to be able to host this toy drive in support of the Marine Toys for Tots mission of helping each and every child have a toy for the holidays,” Chief Miksch said. “With the ongoing pandemic, it is more important than ever to help out those less fortunate and in need. We encourage anyone who is able to help to attend the event on Dec. 6 or stop by the station and drop off their present in person.”
